1. Is the configurator placing an order or sending an inquiry?
The configurator prepares and submits a custom-board inquiry rather than completing an automatic purchase. It records your selected dimensions, wood combination, features, artwork, quantity and contact details so we can review the request before confirming manufacturability, price and production time.
Submitting the form does not require payment and does not commit you to an order.
2. Is the preview an exact representation of the finished board?
The preview is intended to help you understand the board’s proportions, selected woods, inlay placement and chosen features. It is not a photorealistic image or an exact representation of the finished product.
Natural grain, colour, contrast and texture vary from one piece of wood to another. Small differences may also arise when artwork is prepared for reliable wood-inlay production.
3. Can I upload my own logo or artwork?
Yes. You may upload a logo, illustration, lettering or another design for review. The image will be used as the basis for a genuine wood inlay rather than printing, painting, engraving or laser marking.
Please only submit artwork that you own or have permission to use.
4. Which file formats work best?
Vector files generally produce the best results because they contain clean, scalable outlines. SVG, AI, EPS and vector PDF files are preferred where available.
High-resolution PNG or JPEG files may also be submitted. Depending on the artwork, we may need to redraw, simplify or convert it before it can be manufactured as an inlay.
5. What kinds of designs are suitable for wood inlay?
The best results come from designs with clear silhouettes, smooth curves, sufficiently wide lines and well-separated elements. Simple logos, initials, symbols and restrained line art usually translate particularly well.
Very fine details, tiny text, photographic shading, gradients and closely spaced lines may need to be simplified. We will let you know if any changes are recommended before production.
6. What does the inlay fill percentage mean?
The inlay fill percentage describes how much of the design area is occupied by contrasting inlay wood. A design with a higher fill contains more inlay material and generally requires more machining, fitting and finishing.
It does not refer to the percentage of the entire board covered by the design. The setting is used to provide a more accurate initial price estimate for different types of artwork.
7. Can the final price change after artwork review?
Yes, although the configurator is designed to provide a useful initial estimate.
The final price may change if the artwork requires substantial redrawing, contains unusually fine or complex details, needs several separate inlay elements, or requires a manufacturing approach not covered by the standard options.
Price might also drop if your design requires little to no preparation on our end.
We will explain any adjustment and confirm the final price before you approve the order or make payment.
8. Will I receive a proof before production?
Yes. After reviewing your request, we will prepare a proof showing the approved design, approximate size and position on the selected board.
Production begins only after you have reviewed and approved the proof and the order details have been confirmed.
9. Can I request changes after submitting?
Yes. You may request changes while we are reviewing the inquiry and preparing the final proof. This may include adjustments to the design size, position, wood selection or available board features.
Once the proof has been approved and production has begun, changes may no longer be possible or may require additional cost.
10. How do quantity discounts work?
The configurator applies estimated quantity discounts according to the number of matching boards requested:
- 2–5 boards: 10% discount
- 6–10 boards: 15% discount
- 11–20 boards: 20% discount
- More than 20 boards: individually quoted
The discount normally assumes the same board specification and inlay design. Orders containing different sizes, woods, names or artwork may require a separate quotation.
11. How long does a customized board take to produce?
Production time depends on the design, quantity, material availability and current workshop schedule. Customized boards require time for artwork preparation, approval, wood selection, machining, inlay fitting, finishing and curing.
We will provide an estimated production time after reviewing your inquiry. Production time begins after the proof, price and payment have been confirmed—not when the inquiry is first submitted.
12. Can customized boards be returned?
Customized products are made specifically for the customer and generally cannot be returned or exchanged because of a change of mind. This includes boards made with personalized text, submitted artwork, logos, non-standard dimensions or specially selected options.
This does not affect your rights if the product arrives damaged, has a manufacturing defect or differs materially from the approved specification.
