Defined by both craftsmanship and composition, the Five-Wood Pollinator brings together oak, sapele, walnut, cherry, and ash in a single end-grain board. The contrasting tones and grain patterns give the surface exceptional visual richness, while the bee and honeycomb motif is formed directly from hardwood inlays—never printed, painted, or engraved.

Crafted for everyday use, its premium end-grain construction provides a durable, knife-friendly cutting surface that balances practicality with a highly distinctive appearance. The five-wood palette makes each board especially expressive, turning a functional kitchen object into a piece that naturally draws attention even when left on display.

Made to be used, admired, and passed on for generations.

Size & Weight

Our boards are substantial pieces of solid wood and are available in several sizes to suit different kitchens and ways of working.

Dimensions shown are nominal. As each board is individually made and finished, final dimensions may vary by up to ±5 mm / ±3/16". Weight is approximate and varies depending on the wood species and natural density of the individual piece.

Use the size comparison above as a guide when choosing the board that best fits your workspace.

Each board is made from carefully selected solid hardwood and built in end-grain construction, with the wood fibers facing upward on the working surface.

End grain creates a durable cutting surface while allowing knife edges to pass between the wood fibers rather than continually cutting across them.

Natural differences in grain, color and tone are part of the material and make every board unique.

Care & Maintenance

Wash the board by hand using warm water and mild dish soap, then dry it thoroughly. Do not place it in a dishwasher or leave it soaking in water.

Allow the board to dry with air circulating around both sides. Reapply a food-safe board oil whenever the surface begins to look dry or pale.

Knife marks and gradual changes in color are normal signs of use. With regular care, an end-grain board can remain in service for many years.

After years of regular use, the surface can be sanded and refinished to remove deeper knife marks and other signs of heavy use, restoring a fresh working surface. The inlay extends approximately 5 mm / 3/16" below the surface, so the design will remain visible even after substantial sanding and refinishing.
